Newbridge is a large Kildare town on the River Liffey between Naas and Kildare Town, with housing from period Liffey-side terraces to 1970s-1990s estates and newer detached family homes toward the Curragh edge. Back gardens tend to be generous. Ground conditions are mixed boulder clay near the Liffey core with well-drained gravelly till on the Curragh-edge fringe. Kildare County Council handles all planning.

Patio Experts Serving Newbridge
Newbridge is one of the largest towns in Kildare, sitting on the River Liffey between Naas and Kildare Town, with housing ranging from period Liffey-side properties to 1970s-1990s estates along the Dublin Road, Athgarvan Road and Green Road, and newer detached family homes out toward the Curragh edge. That variety shapes what we build here: classic natural stone patios on older properties, porcelain on modern estate homes, and full hardscape builds on the larger detached plots.
Porcelain patios have become the default spec for Newbridge rear gardens. Frost-proof, stain-resistant, fade-resistant and virtually maintenance-free, porcelain is the most durable surface we can install for an Irish back garden. It handles barbecues, kids, garden furniture and years of Irish weather without visible wear. Tones range from warm sandstone and travertine through cool contemporary greys and blacks.
Natural stone patios, limestone, granite and sandstone, remain the preferred choice for Newbridge period properties and for gardens where the owner wants something with more warmth and character than porcelain. We source quality flags with proper riven, sawn or honed finishes and bed them on full sand-and-cement with hand-pointed joints that stay weather-tight.
Being based in Kildare means Newbridge is a 10 to 15 minute run for our crew. Most jobs start within one to two weeks of the signed quote, with easy follow-up visits for any snagging after handover. We have built patios all over the town, from the Athgarvan Road estates to the properties along the Liffey at Alexandra Bridge.
Ground conditions vary across Newbridge. The core and Liffey-side plots have mixed boulder clay with some pockets of softer ground near the river. The Curragh-edge fringe has the well-drained gravelly till that makes the Curragh itself such good grazing ground, genuinely excellent foundation for a patio. The site survey confirms exactly what we are building on before we quote.
Many Newbridge patio projects include more than the main entertaining area. Retaining walls on sloping plots, integrated steps, low seating walls, outdoor kitchen bases and side paths connecting the patio to side gates are all routine. Every element delivered in-house, no subbed-out trades.
