Daltex Silver
Cool grey aggregate with white flecks. Pairs with charcoal block borders for a contemporary look.
Premium resin bound driveways across Wicklow. Particularly well-suited to the coastal Bray-Greystones-Kilcoole-Wicklow Town-Arklow corridor where salt-air resistance is essential, and equally strong on inland Blessington, Enniskerry and the foothill villages.

Every resin driveway is mixed to order from a Daltex aggregate of your choice. Below are the six finishes we install most often, plus the full Daltex colour range. Decorative borders, banding and inlays can be added in any contrasting colour.

Cool grey aggregate with white flecks. Pairs with charcoal block borders for a contemporary look.

Warm grey with golden hints. Our most-requested all-rounder, suits both modern and period homes.

Soft golden buff aggregate. Brightens shaded driveways and complements red-brick frontages.

Rich terracotta tone. Strong kerb appeal against stone or render façades.

Pale cream aggregate. Reflects light, makes smaller driveways feel larger.

Decorative borders and inlays — diamond, banding or compass features in a contrasting Daltex colour.

Resin bound paving is the right call for coastal Wicklow drives. Salt-air, which causes efflorescence on block paving and accelerates binder breakdown on standard tarmac, has zero effect on UV-stable resin and graded natural stone aggregate. The seamless natural-stone finish complements both period and contemporary architecture, the surface is fully permeable and SuDS-compliant, and the maintenance load is essentially zero compared to gravel or block paving.
Resin bound paving is laid as a 15-18mm wear course of clear UV-stable resin and graded natural stone aggregate, troweled hot onto a properly prepared tarmac or concrete base. The finish stays UV-stable for 15-25 years, contains no loose stones, and drains through the matrix into the sub-base rather than running off into the road. For Wicklow coastal-adjacent positions on the Bray-Greystones-Kilcoole-Wicklow Town-Arklow corridor resin bound is the long-term winner over every alternative.
For Wicklow we typically specify warm gold and mocha aggregates that complement granite stonework on period properties (Bray Putland Road, Greystones Burnaby, Wicklow Town Marlton Road area), alongside cooler greys and charcoals for contemporary builds in Charlesland, Coolagad and Druids Glen-area estates. Sample aggregates are matched to existing house and landscape on the on-site survey.
A critical Wicklow detail is the substrate. Resin must go on sound, properly graded tarmac or concrete with the right falls. Where the existing driveway is sound we lay direct, where it is cracked or settled we lay a fresh tarmacadam base first. We never apply resin onto a marginal base because the surface looks brand new at handover and then telegraphs every flaw underneath after one Irish winter. Coastal high-water-table sites get particular attention to drainage detail.

Resin bound is the right call for coastal Wicklow. Salt-air has zero effect on UV-stable resin, while block paving suffers efflorescence and standard tarmac binders deteriorate faster in marine exposure. For the Bray-Greystones-Wicklow Town-Arklow corridor resin is the long-term winner.
Resin bound (not resin bonded) is fully permeable. Surface water drains through the matrix into the sub-base rather than running off into Wicklow streets or coastal drainage. Increasingly relevant for Wicklow County Council planning policy.
Unlike gravel, resin holds every aggregate piece in the matrix. No stones migrate onto the road, into the lawn, or downhill on sloping plots. No annual top-ups. No surface re-spreading. Lay it once, jet wash once a year, that is the maintenance.
Sloping mountain-edge plots in Enniskerry, Roundwood, Glencree and Newtownmountkennedy benefit from resin bound's slope tolerance. Where gravel migrates downhill over time, resin holds its shape indefinitely.
We visit your Wicklow property to measure, assess existing surface and check sub-base soundness. Coastal high-water-table sites and mountain-edge sloping plots get specific spec adjustments documented at this stage.
Sample boards brought to the survey. Warm gold and mocha for period homes, cooler greys for contemporary builds. UV-stable clear resin or warm-tinted resin depending on aggregate choice.
Resin must go on sound tarmac or concrete with the right falls. Sound bases take resin direct. Cracked, settled or wrong-falls bases need a fresh tarmacadam layer first, which adds 2-3 days but transforms long-term durability.
Aggregate and resin mixed in the correct ratio, troweled hot onto the prepared base in a 15-18mm wear course. Edge restraint and drainage detail set at this stage. Resin must be laid in dry conditions above 5 degrees, so timing is weather-dependent in winter.
We walk you through the finished driveway. 24-48 hour cure window before vehicle use. Annual jet wash is the entire maintenance schedule. All waste cleared, property left spotless.
Resin bound driveway prices in Wicklow depend on size, base condition (whether a fresh tarmac base is needed), aggregate choice and edge detail. Coastal high-water-table and mountain-edge sites can need additional sub-base spec.
Where existing tarmac or concrete is sound and ready to take resin direct.
Where existing surface needs replacement or new build. Most common spec.
Larger executive plots and rural approaches.
Sawn granite setts cut into resin as borders, edges and contrast bands.
Indicative ranges only. Final price quoted on-site after a free survey. Ranges reflect typical residential installations and may vary with site access, drainage requirements, ground conditions and decorative features.
"I recently had my driveway transformed by Paul. We discussed all our options and decided resin was the best fit. The driveway was completed to exceptional standards."
