Warm grey with golden hints. Our most-requested all-rounder, suits both modern and period homes.

Soft golden buff aggregate. Brightens shaded driveways and complements red-brick frontages.

Rich terracotta tone. Strong kerb appeal against stone or render façades.

Pale cream aggregate. Reflects light, makes smaller driveways feel larger.

Decorative borders and inlays — diamond, banding or compass features in a contrasting Daltex colour.

Portmarnock is a north Dublin coastal suburb with substantial detached homes along Strand Road and Velvet Strand, executive estates around Drumnigh Wood, and period properties near Portmarnock village. High water-table conditions on Strand Road favour resin bound's permeable matrix. Fingal County Council handles all planning.
Portmarnock is one of the most distinctive north Dublin coastal suburbs, with substantial detached homes along Strand Road and the streets backing onto Velvet Strand, executive estates around Drumnigh Wood, and period properties near Portmarnock village. Resin bound driveways are exceptionally well-suited to Portmarnock: the seamless natural-stone finish flatters both period and contemporary architecture, the salt-air resistance is genuinely useful in this coastal position, and the permeable surface handles the high water-table conditions on Strand Road plots properly.
Resin bound paving is laid as a 15-18mm wear course of clear UV-stable resin and graded natural stone aggregate, troweled hot onto a properly prepared tarmac or concrete base. The finish is fully permeable, SuDS-compliant, free of loose stones, and stays UV-stable for the full design life. For Portmarnock coastal-adjacent properties resin holds up significantly better than block paving, which can suffer efflorescence and joint deterioration in salt-air conditions.
For Portmarnock we typically specify warm gold and silver-grey aggregates that complement both the coastal architecture and the planting common across the area. Daltex Silver Moon, Bowland golden and Autumn Quartz mixes are routine. The cooler grey blends suit the contemporary Drumnigh Wood and Strand Road builds, while warmer mocha tones work on period properties near the village.
Being based in Kildare with daily Dublin work, Portmarnock is a 55-minute run via the M50 and M1. We have laid resin driveways across north Dublin for years. Most jobs start within two to three weeks of the signed quote.
A critical Portmarnock detail is the high water-table condition on Strand Road and the streets nearest Velvet Strand. Some plots need deeper sub-base preparation and integrated drainage detail to prevent surface water issues. Resin's permeable matrix actually helps here: surface water drains through the resin into the sub-base rather than ponding on the surface. We assess the substrate during the on-site survey before quoting.
Portmarnock resin work often coordinates with wider hardscape: granite or limestone setts cut into resin as borders, contrasting darker bands marking parking bays, integrated lighting strips, granite step features at front doors, and clean transitions into porcelain or stone paths. Every Portmarnock resin driveway is delivered as a coordinated design piece.
"Paul and his team recently completed an amazing job on our driveway. Paul suggested granite between the house and tar which he installed and also a granite door step, it really made the whole job next level."
