Cool grey aggregate with white flecks. Pairs with charcoal block borders for a contemporary look.

Warm grey with golden hints. Our most-requested all-rounder, suits both modern and period homes.

Soft golden buff aggregate. Brightens shaded driveways and complements red-brick frontages.

Rich terracotta tone. Strong kerb appeal against stone or render façades.

Pale cream aggregate. Reflects light, makes smaller driveways feel larger.

Decorative borders and inlays — diamond, banding or compass features in a contrasting Daltex colour.

Dalkey is a high-end coastal village in south Dublin with period stone-fronted homes around Castle Street and Coliemore Road, larger detached properties along Sorrento Road and the Vico Road, and substantial houses up Killiney Hill. Resin bound driveways suit the area better than almost any other surface thanks to the seamless natural-stone finish that complements existing granite and limestone stonework. Most properties have sound tarmac or concrete bases that take resin directly. Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council handles all planning.
Dalkey is one of the highest-end residential addresses in Dublin, with a housing mix that runs from period stone-fronted homes around Castle Street and Coliemore Road to substantial detached properties along Sorrento Road, the Vico Road and the streets running up Killiney Hill. Resin bound driveways suit this profile better than any other surface. The smooth seamless finish flatters period and modern houses equally, the natural stone aggregate range matches existing granite walls and stone paving, and the maintenance load is the lowest of any driveway type we install.
Resin bound paving is laid as a 15-18mm wear course of clear UV-stable resin and graded natural stone aggregate, troweled hot onto a properly prepared tarmac or concrete base. The finish is permeable, SuDS-compliant and entirely free of loose stones. There is no rolling gravel onto the road, no settling, no annual top-ups, just a clean continuous surface that handles Dalkey weather and Dalkey traffic without complaint.
For Dalkey we typically specify warm-tone natural aggregates that complement the limestone and granite stonework common across the area. Daltex Mocha, Autumn Quartz and golden Bowland mixes work especially well alongside period stone walls. For the more contemporary Vico Road and Killiney Hill houses, cooler grey blends like Daltex Silver Moon or charcoal mixes give the clean modern finish those properties need.
Being based in Kildare with crews in Dublin daily, Dalkey is a 45-minute run via the M50. We have laid resin driveways across south Dublin for years, and Dalkey-grade specifications, base preparation, drainage detail, edge restraint and the right resin-to-aggregate ratio, are well within our routine work. Most resin jobs start within two to three weeks of the signed quote.
A critical detail on Dalkey resin work is the substrate. Resin must go onto sound, properly graded tarmac or concrete with the right falls. Where the existing driveway is sound, we lay resin directly onto it. Where it is cracked, settled or laid to wrong falls, we lay a fresh tarmacadam base first and then resin on top. We never apply resin onto a marginal base, as the surface looks brand new at handover and then telegraphs every flaw underneath after one Irish winter.
Resin bound also enables design detail you cannot get with tarmac or block paving. Granite or limestone setts cut into the resin as a border, contrasting bands of darker aggregate marking parking bays, integrated lighting strips, and seamless transitions into porcelain paths or stone steps. Every resin driveway we lay in Dalkey is treated as a design piece rather than a paving job.
"I couldn't recommend Paul from Delaney Tarmac enough. Paul himself came out to discuss with us, went into every little detail and designed our dream patio, even better than we could have imagined. We also got our driveway tarmaced with the highest quality materials."
