Foxrock is one of the most established affluent suburbs in south Dublin, with substantial detached homes set on generous plots along Westminster Road, Brighton Road, Torquay Road and Brennanstown Road. Porcelain paving has become the dominant patio specification across Foxrock for solid reasons: the seamless modern finish flatters the executive architecture, the maintenance load is essentially zero, and the dense-vitrified surface handles years of garden furniture, barbecues and family use without staining or wearing.

Porcelain paving is laid as 20mm dense-vitrified slabs on a full sand-and-cement bed over a properly compacted sub-base. Joints are hand-pointed with a flexible jointing compound that stays weather-tight for decades. Dense vitrification means porcelain does not absorb water, so it does not stain, does not freeze-crack and does not need annual sealing the way limestone or sandstone does.

For Foxrock we typically specify large-format porcelain in warm sandstone, travertine and stone-effect tones for traditional executive plots, alongside contemporary greys, charcoals and concrete-effect finishes for modern builds. Slab sizes range from 600x600mm and 600x900mm for traditional layouts through to large-format 800x800mm and 1200x600mm for contemporary specifications. Indoor-outdoor matching with porcelain inside is straightforward.

Being based in Kildare with daily Dublin work, Foxrock is a 40-minute run via the M50. We have laid porcelain across the Foxrock corridor for years and the standards needed here are routine. Most projects start within two to three weeks of the signed quote.

Foxrock executive plots typically have generous rear gardens with space for full multi-zone hardscape. We routinely deliver coordinated builds: porcelain paving as the main entertaining surface, low rendered or stone-faced seating walls bordering the patio, integrated planter walls, granite step features cut into porcelain transitions, outdoor kitchen bases, fire-pit zones, and clean transitions to lawn or stone paths.

A critical Foxrock detail is sub-base preparation. Larger porcelain slabs (especially 800x800mm and 1200x600mm) need a perfectly compacted sub-base to handle loads without settling. We never compromise on base preparation because porcelain is unforgiving of substrate movement, even though the slabs themselves are effectively permanent.
